Benedict XVI thanked Polish youth for their witness of faith which he experienced during the evening encounter in the Cracow Błonia Common. In his address from the "papal" window the Holy Father told the faithful in attendance that the presence of residents of Cracow at the Palace of the Archbishops in 3 Franciszkańska Street is a token of a great kindness to him.

The Pope recalled that he would spend in Poland one more day, thanked the people under the window for their generous attitude and invited them for the Sunday Holy Mass.

The Holy Father appeared in the window at around 9.30 pm. A few thousand people were waiting for him at the Palace of the Archbishops. They tried to encourage the Pope to appear for almost 45 minutes by chanting "Come to us," "If you don’t come, we won’t go"! and by singing.

Benedict XVI’s short speech was interrupted with applause and cheers. At the end the Pope repeated "Thank you" and "Good night!" in Polish a few times.
